Where mechatronic engineering brings the most ambitious stage projects to life

Multivision is a Belgian specialist in custom-designed mechatronic stage and immersive architecture. Since 2002, the company has designed, manufactured, and installed complex stage solutions for projects up to 100 meters wide: screens, curtains, acoustic dividers, and dynamic architectures. They have completed over 335 projects in more than 20 countries across Europe and internationally.

Initially a manufacturer of projection screens, Multivision has gradually transformed into a design and manufacturing office specializing in custom mechatronic stage solutions. When a project is too complex, too large, or too specific for standard market solutions, audiovisual integrators, architects, and set designers turn to Multivision.

Our promise is simple: to transform the impossible into a deliverable.

Whether it's a motorized screen that disappears into a false ceiling in 12 seconds, a 20-meter Italian-style stage curtain that vanishes into the ceiling, or dynamic acoustic architecture for a large arena, Multivision masters the entire process, from initial design to on-site installation. All our solutions are designed and manufactured in Belgium, in partnership with long-standing European suppliers.

Screens, dynamic architecture, mechatronic scenography: the three pillars of Multivision

Multivision structures its business around three complementary pillars: custom-made projection screens and canvases, motorized dynamic architectures, and complete mechatronic scenography solutions. For each project, the company controls the entire chain: from design in the engineering office to on-site installation.

HISTORIC PILLAR

Custom-made projection screens and canvases

Custom-designed fixed and motorized screens, from 2 to 100 meters wide. Each solution is tailored to the exact constraints of the project: dimensions, retraction speed, architectural integration, and usage conditions. Our flagship products (nolimit, cinévision, widevision, polivision) are developed in-house and manufactured in Belgium with European partners.

This pillar incorporates variable speed motorization solutions allowing winding speeds from 10 cm/sec up to 1 m/sec.

UNDER DEVELOPMENT

Dynamic motorized architectures

The same mechanical intelligence applied to uses other than projection: motorized acoustic space dividers, blackout curtains, movable partitions, technical blinds. These solutions transform a space in seconds, offering an architectural flexibility that fixed structures cannot provide.

STRONG GROWTH

Custom mechatronic scenography

Multivision designs complex motorized architectures integrated into custom stage designs: lifting systems, stage machinery, and controlled mechatronic structures—where no off-the-shelf solution exists. This is the territory where few European competitors operate in an integrated mode.

Multivision's story: 20 years of tailor-made stage solutions

Multivision was founded in 2002. In over twenty years, the company has established itself as a leading player in large-scale, custom stage solutions, tackling technical challenges that no one else in Europe could solve. Its solutions are now installed on every continent.

1970s

The stage DNA

The story begins with Ghigny SA, a Belgian family business specializing in flame-retardant technical textiles for live entertainment and stage machinery. It is in this environment, closely aligned with the constraints of the entertainment world, that the DNA of what would become Multivision was forged.

2002

Multivision Creation

Multivision was founded in Ciney, Belgium. The philosophy was already in place: adapt to each situation, never say no to a technical challenge.

2006

The project that changes everything

A Dutch client ordered a motorized screen 42 meters wide, a size that no one in Europe was producing or installing at the time. Multivision took up the challenge. The Nolimit screen was delivered and installed in Amsterdam. The company's reputation spread beyond Belgium.

2010

Harkness's international presence and strategic partnership

Multivision now operates on every continent. A strategic partnership has been established with Harkness Screens, a world leader in projection surfaces. This partnership confirms Multivision's premium positioning and its integration within the leading ecosystem of the professional audiovisual sector.

2021

Structuring the design office

Under the leadership of Louis-Philippe du Jardin, the design office was formalized and structured. Multivision no longer simply manufactured screens; it designed complete solutions from start to finish, from engineering to on-site installation. The design office moved to Gembloux, while the production site remained in Ciney.

2024

For Puy du Fou, Multivision designed and installed a 20-meter Italian-style stage curtain that retracts into a false ceiling with a 2-meter clearance, and is automatically controlled. This project embodies the company's new positioning in high-end mechatronic scenography.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Multivision

Q1 — What is Multivision?

Multivision is a Belgian company founded in 2002, specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of custom-made mechatronic stage and immersive architectures. It works for live entertainment, film, amusement parks, large arenas, and events. Its solutions range from large-scale motorized screens to dynamic architectures and complex mechatronic scenography. It has completed over 335 projects in more than 20 countries.

Q2 — How does Multivision differentiate itself from other screen manufacturers?

Multivision controls the entire value chain: integrated design office, manufacturing in Belgium with European partners, on-site installation, and maintenance. While most manufacturers offer catalog products, Multivision designs each solution from scratch, incorporating the precise constraints of the project: non-standard dimensions, challenging environments, and specific architectural requirements. Its motto: turning the impossible into a deliverable.

Q3 — What types of projects does Multivision carry out?

Multivision undertakes three types of projects: custom-made projection screens and canvases (fixed or motorized, up to 100m wide), motorized dynamic architecture (acoustic dividers, blackout curtains, mobile partitions), and complete mechatronic scenography solutions (stage machinery, lifting systems, complex motorized structures). Its portfolio includes the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Puy du Fou, and installations in New Zealand, Guam, and Saudi Arabia.

Q4 — In which sectors does Multivision operate?

Multivision primarily operates in four sectors: live entertainment and theaters, cinemas and premium screening venues, amusement parks and immersive experiences, and large arenas and stadiums. It also undertakes projects for experiential museums, high-end residential projects, and corporate venues.

Q5 — Does Multivision work internationally?

Yes. Since 2010, Multivision has been operating on almost every continent. Its international portfolio includes projects in the Netherlands, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Norway, Greece, and Spain. The company is a strategic partner of Harkness Screens, a world leader in projection surfaces. This partnership confirms its position within the premium ecosystem of the professional audiovisual sector.

Q6 — How does Multivision manage complex or non-standard projects?

Multivision has an integrated design office where the same design engineer validates the manufacturing and coordinates the on-site installation. This continuity ensures compliance with the most demanding specifications. The company develops its own profiles, housings, and control boards, enabling it to design solutions impossible to achieve with standard components.
