In May 2025, Multivision Screens completed a major installation on the campus of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This ambitious project was carried out from start to finish by our team, from the initial discussions in August 2023 to the actual tensioning of the screen in May 2025.

An unusual project in the heart of Saudi Arabia
The screen installed is a tensioned Polivision measuring 10.9 m wide by 5.9 m high, equipped with a non-perforated Clarus XC 170 fabric compatible with 2D and 3D, characterised by its silver-grey colour and its superior gain of 1.7. The screen is also equipped with an ‘’anti-fall‘’ device designed to prevent any risk of accidental fall, offering optimum safety in the event of a technical failure.
Everything was shipped by boat, but carefully packaged in a custom-made wooden crate and SEI4C packaging, a heat-sealable, watertight cover that protects the equipment from the climatic conditions that can arise during transport.
A two-stage installation, completed in 7 days
Two technicians, Louis-Philippe and Félicien, travelled to the site to carry out this delicate mission, which took 7 days to complete.
1. Removal of old screen structure and projection screen and installation of new Hilti mounting structures - In 4.5 days
The work began with the complete removal of the old system :
Assembly of scaffolding and securing at height to allow access to fixing structures
Installation of a new quality Hilti fixing structure, prior to the removal of the old one, while finding enough space in the ceiling to securely anchor the fixings of the new Hilti structure
Installation of 7 fixing brackets with threaded rods
Removal of the old screen, which was cut into two parts to facilitate clearance.
2. Assembly and installation of the new Polivision screen - in 2.5 days
The second phase was equally strategic :
Unpacking the material, carefully protected
Bringing the fabric rolled up on a flexible tube into the room, making it easier to handle
On-site creativity : in the absence of trestles for assembling the casing, Louis-Philippe and Félicien improvised a carpentry workshop using the wood from the transport crate to create made-to-measure trestles
Assembly of the casing and laser alignment of all the components, mounting of the motor on the structure, initial adjustments and preliminary tests carried out on the ground
Attachment of the fabric to the casing, assembly and height fixings, adjustment of the fabric, tensioning of the assembly, precision adjustments and finishing touches.
A technical, human and collaborative project

This installation required specific technical adaptations, such as the installation of a new custom-made hanging structure to replace the existing infrastructure. This type of intervention, which goes beyond the simple installation of a screen, is one of the services we can offer depending on requirements : room adaptation, modification of structures, on-site technical adjustments.
We were able to count on the Hilti team for the structures, as well as the invaluable involvement of our direct customer, who supported us throughout the project : logistical help on site, physical assistance during certain key stages, and constant availability to answer our questions. An effective collaboration that greatly contributed to the success of the project.
This is an example of precision work, demonstrating our desire to provide complex, custom-made, high-quality projection solutions.
